Hello OKMathTeachers!
My name is Jennifer Lamb and I am the new Director of Elementary Mathematics for the Oklahoma State Department of Education. I am excited to work with the talented and amazing Elementary Educators in our state. I have gotten the chance to meet and work with several of you the last few years and continue to be impressed with the dedication and love you have for the students of Oklahoma. I feel honored to be supporting you as you make such a difference in the lives of so many students.
A little background on me, I was born on Fort Sill, an Army brat stationed there and Germany several times until sixth Grade when my father retired in the area. I hold a Bachelor degree in Elementary Education and a Masters in Secondary Education. I will start the New Year attending my first class toward my doctoral degree at the University of Oklahoma! I have taught multiple years at the Elementary level in first, fifth and sixth grades. When my sixth graders were moved into the new Middle School system, I followed them and taught sixth grade Math for the next several years. Most recently, I have worked as a Middle School Instructional Coach for Lawton Public Schools.
In my new role as Director of Elementary Mathematics, my goal is to work with Elementary Educators across the state as we build a solid educational foundation for our Oklahoma students. I look forward to supporting those of you who pour your hearts into your students every day through building relationships and communities that help meet the needs of our teachers and students.
