ARCHIVE: A New Chapter

ARCHIVE: A New Chapter

Hello Everyone,

The last couple of years have been an amazing learning experience. I have traveled the state, met some truly awesome people, and seen the world of education from yet another angle. It is much like hands-ons exploration of a 3D object. You have to pick it up, turn it around and see it from all sides to truly appreciate how complex the system is to meet, what seems like should be, a simple goal. I have been blessed with the opportunity to work from the angles of a student, a teacher, an instructional coach, an adjunct professor for pre-service teachers, and a director at the state level.

My newest challenge will allow me to blend all of my experiences into yet another new-to-me role. I have accepted a position with Santa Fe South Schools to be part of a team, as a lead teacher/instructional coach, opening up a new 6th grade center. I am super excited for this new chapter in my life. Knowing the Author of my life personally and having a close relationship with Him, gives me the courage to keep turning the pages with anticipation of what will happen next.

Sadly, opening a new chapter means transitioning from another. Thankfully, many of the characters from previous chapters will still have roles in the next ones. With the OKMath Network firmly in place, and the TLIC Network rapidly solidifying, I know I will still be in contact with many of the friends and colleagues I have met. June 30th will be my last official day with the State Department and then I will be getting ready to start a new school year. Back to school shopping, here I come!

Thank you to all of those who were/are on this journey with me!
